Afterschool Youth Music Lab for Ages 8-17
Start with an idea and finish with your own recording—let’s make music together! Next session begins October 7th!
What to Expect.
At Valisa, we help you at every step of making music. Over 3 weeks, you’ll go from your first cool idea to your final awesome recording. Each week, you’ll get to do something new—writing songs, making and recording your music!
Week 1: WRITE
Use your own words to create lyrics with guided support to from us. You will learn how to structure your songs in your own unique way. You have something to say! We are here to make sure it is properly communicated. (Songwriting)
Week 2: CREATE
Can’t play any instruments? It is okay! We are here to help your song thrive. With a combination of digitial instruments and access to live instrumentation, we will help you put together sounds to make your own awesome music tracks.

Week 3: RECORD
It didn’t happen unless you have proof right?! This is your time to shine and make memories by allowing those lyrics to come to life in our state of the art recording booth, the Whisper Room™.
**Upon completion, you will have the option to add on mixing and mastering for public music release. Ask associate for more information. *

How Our Classes Are Designed
We offer three skill levels—Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced—so whether you’re just starting, getting better, or already awesome, we’ve got a program just for you!:

Great for beginners, this level teaches you the basics of music, writing your own songs, and easy ways to record them. No experience needed—just bring your love for music!

If you already know some music basics, this level helps you get better at making and producing songs, so your music sounds even cooler and more polished.

Designed for experienced musicians, this level helps you master advanced songwriting, top-level production, and professional recording skills.
Specialty Session - Learn Music Distribution and Prepare your song for distribution in our in store distribution and beyond!
At Valisa, we don’t just teach you how to create music—we help you take it to the next level by showing you how to share and sell your finished tracks. Whether you’ve crafted a catchy song, an awesome beat, or a full album, we’ll guide you through the steps to get your music out there for the world to hear! Here’s what you’ll learn:
Digital Distribution: Learn how to upload your music to platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, and more, so your tracks can be streamed by listeners everywhere.
Creating Merch: Discover how to design and sell your own merchandise, like T-shirts or posters, that showcase your unique style and music brand.
Marketing Your Music: Get tips on how to use social media and other tools to promote your music, reach new fans, and grow your audience.
Selling Your Music: We’ll guide you through setting up online stores or using platforms like Bandcamp, where you can sell your music directly to fans.
Prepare your music for in-store distribution: We’ll guide you through setting up artwork for your album cover and properly set up tracking for album sales.
By the end of our program, you’ll not only have amazing music to share but also the know-how to turn your passion into a thriving music career!
